Member Mondays - Featuring: Adrienne Rube!
Meet Adrienne “It’s so fine” Rube!
All things Cape Harmony!
Q: How did you hear about Cape Harmony?
A: “I believe I saw a Facebook post, as well as heard about it from an email that my college a cappella group had received about auditions. Plus a few other girls in my group were thinking about auditioning, so I thought it might be a fun opportunity before I had to enter the real world!”
Q: What has been your favorite CH memory so far?
A: “I thought it was really special that we got to sing at the Relay for Life Luminaria ceremony. It was cool to see how our music directly impacted the community, and it’s nice that we get to perform in front of all types of audiences. I think Relay definitely put things in perspective and enabled us to tap into/find a real emotional connection.”
Q: What is something you were not expecting going into CH?
A: “One, I was expecting the house to be way more chaotic, but everyone is really clean. Which rocks. And two, just how much we sing! We have so many gigs a day which is fun. I was also surprised about how much of Cape Cod we actually get to see.”
Q: Do you have any personal goals for CH this summer?
A: “I’m really excited to learn how the business side of Cape Harmony works, like the publicity/advertising and gig-managing parts. Also, since we sing so frequently, learning how to really take care of my voice and become a better performer.”
Q: How would you describe a day in the life of a CH member?
A: “There's no real typical day but I'd say wake up, eat, usually rehearsal, and then maybe we’ll break or have a gig during the day, maybe another break where we do business stuff, then leave to go advertise for our gig that day, go to the gig, come home and eat take out, watch America’s Next Top Model. Bada bing bada boom.”
More about Adrienne!
Q: What was your favorite movie as a child?
A: “*gasp!* The Sound of Music or My Fair Lady!”
Q: What’s the funniest joke you know by heart?
A: “Can I have a different question? I hate jokes. I'm more of a sarcastic in the moment kind of gal.”
Q: Do you think aliens exist?
A: “Wow, ok, so I definitely think there is the potential for other life out there in the galaxy. And I love the book Ender's Game, so I’m inclined to say yes.”
Q: What was your favorite thing about going to school in Boston?
A: “UGH so many things. I love, or I guess loved (past tense, sad) exploring the different neighborhoods, and also the fact that I could walk everywhere. And a lot of my friends went to school in Boston, so it was nice to be able to see them.”
Q: If magic was real, what spell would you cast first?
A: “My first instinct was Alohomora (unlocking charm) because classic, but which one would I actually use? The Accio one (summoning charm) because I straight up lose my phone every five seconds.”
Q: If animals could talk, which one would be the most annoying?
A: “I feel like cats would talk really low and gravelly and they would be really annoying, but they also could be cute. OH WAIT MOSQUITOS!”
Q: Are you a procrastinator?
A: Oh one HUNDRED percent. It’s one of my worst qualities, but everything always get done!”
Q: What is your favorite thing about your hometown?
A: “Well obviously my family is there, so that just about makes it all I could want. #homeiswheretheheartis. But also all my favorite restaurants! Los Sarapes is my jam. Also in general Bucks County is so green and pretty.”
Q: You minored in French, which other language do you wish you knew?
A: “Spanish would be great and very helpful, also Latin. I know a little bit of Italian, but literally six words.”
Q: What is the most recent show you binge watched?
A: “Personally, Jane The Virgin. But the house has decided to watch America’s Next Top Model, and it’s been the most fun to travel back to the early 2000’s and see how the cinematography has evolved. The drama is honestly so worth it.”
